Founded by Gavin Sheppard & Derek 'Drex' Jancar, the co-founders of internationally awarded artistic and cultural incubator, The Remix Project, Honest Music is a social enterprise fully owned and operated by Remix as a charitable corporation. At Honest Music we employ some of The Remix Project’s most talented alumni from across the breadth of its academies in order to produce quality creative content in and around the world of music.

In a nod to the level of talent consistently cultivated at the charity, Remix is proud to have alumni of the project represented at every step of the label’s hierarchy. This starts at the top of the ladder with Remix graduate Kyle Harrison, who manages the day-to-day operations of the company as Label Manager of Honest Music.

With the founding fathers of Motown and their storied commitment to artist development as one of the labels inspirations, Honest Music is a melting pot of unique artists and genres of music and artistry that capture the sounds of the city.

With access to some of the finest in house writers and producers, the mission is to set the bar high. Taking the production of art and creativity very seriously, Honest Music takes as its business model a multi-medium approach to promoting each release.

Constantly partnering with photographers, graphic artists, fashion designers, filmmakers etc. to create cross-boundary based bodies of artistic work and campaigns, Honest Music truly operates at the intersection of art and commerce.
